Well what an unbelievably great start to what we hope will be many happy years of PGV.

Mid Century Modern turned out to be friendly, positive and productive if not a little hectic at times! I am not sure how many people came through the doors that day but we were certainly inundated from very early on until the lull of Mother’s Day lunch gave us a welcome breather.

Lovely to chat to so many people who had such nice things to say about our work. Not only were people complimentary about the fabrics and how we have used them but lots of people nearly turned the chairs upside down to inspect the finer details and hand-stitching – a discerning clientele! We gave away 100′s of postcards which I hope are adorning people’s kitchen walls as I write, and of course most importantly sold some pieces.

We waved goodbye to Hedgerow, the dining set and these lovely chairs that didn’t even make it onto the website as they had only been finished the week before.

Thanks to Petra and Lucy who run the show with such good humour. Hope to see you again next year if not before.

So, after a year of intense creativity and no small amount of admin, Polly Granville is about to go forth into the big wide world!

We have taken a stand at Mid Century Modern – a fantastic furniture show at Dulwich College on the 18th of March.

“Designed as an unpretentious one stop shop for busy people who love collecting beautiful pieces for their homes, you can find everything for the eclectic home at this much-loved one day show from an original Eames rocker to a contemporary piece for the home from a hot young British designer.”

Listed as a top Time Out London attraction, we are delighted to be showing there. If you find yourself anywhere nearby that Sunday please do pop by and see us! We will be in the contemporary room.

Finally, Polly Granville has got studio premises. What an absolute delight to hang up my tools and know they will be there when I next look, gone are the days of moving things around the house to make way for guests, the kids supper or just to sit down and do some paper work. Gone too are the 10 steam-bent pub chairs in my hallway! It was great to not have to travel to work but the temptation to hang up the washing or go through the post could be too much. Now I get down there first thing and don’t leave until it’s dark – a good honest day’s work!

We have a fab workroom and storage space in one of several railway arches with a collection of artists, web designers, chandelier makers and many more. Everyone is really welcoming and we are hoping to become part of the Park Mews family very soon. Run by Adam Perry, it is an unusual space which he has made almost entirely from recycled materials including support props left over from the construction of the channel tunnel.

Best of all I can cycle there from home in 20 mins nipping through Brockwell Park – roll on the summer!
